Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. At LesLevres the most common type of filler used include hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. Avoid international travel for 2 weeks post-treatment. The prolonged cabin air pressure can cause unpredictable swelling and bruising.
Lip filler results are visible straight away. You may experience some swelling and bruise for 1-5 days, however, this is completely normal after a cosmetic injectable treatment. During this time, an ice pack should be applied to the area to reduce any swelling/bruising.
Lumps and bumps are also common after having your lips treated which is why it’s important to ensure you attend your complimentary review. A complimentary post-treatment review is available to all injectable clients. It not only gives the Injector an opportunity to check in with the results of the treatment, but it also gives you, the client, an opportunity to ask any lingering queries you may have.
Dermal Fillers can last from six months to 1 year and in some cases longer depending on how fast the body metabolizes the product. Lips are a high activity area as we use them all the time, this can impact how long the results will last.
The most common side effects occur within 24 hours post-treatment. These include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness.
Immediate side effects usually disappear within days. However, depending on the type of dermal filler used, it can take a few weeks. At LesLevres, we strongly encourage a review appointment which is complimentary 2 weeks post-treatment to discuss your treatment results.
